Safeguarding is still considered as a new concept in Jordan and there are concerns related to how recruitment process is being conducted among aid sector. There was a need identified, in addition to demand from civil society organisations to understand measures to put in place to prevent sexual misconduct by personnel.

There will be an opportunity to hear from experts as well as for questions and answers during the discussion.

Panelist 1: Heba Odeh – currently holding the position of HR Head at a Jordan-based international organisation

Heba Odeh is an experienced HR professional, she has more than 15 years of experience in HR field, with a passion for people and broad background in multiple human resources areas, including direct experience with work in humanitarian contexts locally and cross borders. She has also done some very profound work harmonising policies and procedures, leading HR teams and was involved in driving Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.

Heba has experience driving substantial change management initiatives in performance management, onboarding, and recruiting, along with her passion for learning and development.

 

Panelist 2: Muath Momani – Lawyer & Legal Consultant specialised in labour and civil society issues

He has worked and continues to serve as a legal consultant with several national and international organisations. Muath has contributed to building capacities of individuals and institutions.
